Breaking Barriers:
Securing roles for refugees in health and social care.

Partnering with the European Social Fund (ESF), refugee employment specialist, Breaking Barriers, has supported 556 refugees in the first year of the partnership to secure roles in health and social care. The Foundation’s funding partially unlocked the commitment from ESF, resulting in the creation of bespoke recruitment pathways, education and training opportunities and enhanced visibility for social care in this space. 29 refugees have since secured employment in health and social care and 195 are engaging in education and employment activities.
