MTW aims to provide quality education for all, fostering sustainable development and lasting social change.

Since 2016, MTW has been working in the peri-urban Ga West District of Ghana, a region oftenoverlooked due to its proximity to wealthier areas near Accra. The young people in this district facesignificant challenges, including health and welfare issues, poor sanitation, inadequate housing, and
limited access to essentials and education. Schools in the area are overcrowded andunder-resourced, with students often receiving less than half the education they should. Many young people leave school early, becoming hawkers to survive, trapped in a cycle of poverty. Despite these difficulties, the community remains resilient and determined.

MTW aims to provide quality education for all, fostering sustainable development and lasting social change. They have developed two Global Citizenship Education programmes for students aged 10-15. These seven-month, play-based programmes encourage creative thinking, build confidence,
and promote community-driven solutions, using the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as learning themes. These programmes are delivered by locally trained facilitators who serve as role
models and contribute to closing the economic job gap. All facilitators are pursuing or have completed tertiary education, using their income from MTW to support their families. Since its launch in 2019, MTW has reached 2,956 students across 14 schools, delivering 117 programmes.

As MTW prepares for the new academic year in September, we are proud to support their efforts with this recent grant of £1400. The funding will directly enhance their programming, enabling more students to access quality education that supports their growth and future potential.

With our support, MTW can continue to expand its impact, creating a brighter future for generations to come.
