The CareTech Foundation is delighted to have supported the tremendous success of the Parliamentary Reception, hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Adult Social Care,to highlight the critical importance of voting rights for individuals with autism and learning disabilities—a demographic that is often overlooked.
The Foundation was delighted to provide a Community Grant to the My Vote My Voice organisation that worked with the APPG to highlight the significance of enabling those with disabilities and learning difficulties to exercise their right to vote and actively participate in shaping society. In a world where every voice should be heard, the CareTech Foundation stood alongside the APPG, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to champion inclusivity and ensuring that no one is left unheard.
The event provided an incredible platform for self-advocates to share their personal experiences with voting barriers, as well as facilitating insightful discussions with Parliamentarians about the need for disabled voices to have greater representation in politics. It was truly an exceptional occasion that amplified the importance of accessibility and empowerment for all.
